The Rathgar and Sundrive Consultancy Centre, is a thriving, dynamic counselling centre provided to you in the heart of both Rathgar and Kimmage villages. It was established in 2005 by Orla McHugh, and the ever increasing number of doctors referring to the centre, is a testimony to the range and quality of the counselling and psychotherapy services that are offered at the centre.

Ours is a safe, non- judgemental environment that is humanistic in its outlook, believing in the inherent worth and value of each person. Our therapists are acutely aware of the sheer difficulty sometimes experienced by individuals in simply living. We use a variety of theoretical approaches, combining those that are most appropriate to the clients’ presenting issues and stated preferences.  In the treatment of certain issues such as Anxiety, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, and Panic Attacks, the theoretical approach used will be mainly Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, as it is seen to be the most effective treatment for such conditions. Certain therapists have particular areas of expertise, such as in the treatment of bereavement, relationship issues, food disorders, family therapy etc. Individuals will be referred to the therapist deemed to be most suitable to treat their presenting issues and therapeutic requirements. A course of treatment will be proposed and the duration of therapy agreed upon at this point. We are results focused, and the quality and experience of our counsellors is a major contributing factor in the positive outcomes we achieve with our clients.
